The Drive-Thru Difference is not always a drive thru moment! Sunday after church I needed to get gas in my car. I had a yardsale at my house friday and saturday, so I had enough money to fill the car up. So I pulled into the nearest gas station, and went inside to pay for my gas ahead of time, and got in the single line that was then forming. The only cashier was waiting on two teenage boys and their debit card wasn't working, to purchase the items most teenagers buy at a gas station-soda, candy, chips, snacks. Meanwhile the line was getting longer, people holding cases of beer, soda, and other goods, I was third in line and could see everything transpiring. One of the older teens kept looking back at me, as though I were a cop. Perhaps it was the black pants, dark blue long sleeve shirt with black t-shirt under, that did it. This made me nervous. After the the third time the card was declined, they started to walk away. I was standing there with a $50.00 bill in my hand, and it occurred to me that I had more than enough to pay for my gas and their goodies which came to $9.07. After a heart string pulling by God, I grabbed the kid that was walking by me, by the arm. (the one that kept looking at me). He said, "Hey why you pulling me by the arm dude?" I said, "Turn around I am going to pay for your stuff !" "Huh?" I then handed the cashier lady my fifty and said I was paying for their stuff and $30.00 worth of gas. She said, "Huh?" I thought to myself, what, is everybody here stuck on that word? So the teenage kids thanks me profusely, and so did the cashier. She gave me my change, and I said "Have a good day!" I went on about my business, without looking around. I hadn't "planned" on doing that, but God poked me in the ribs and I felt a whole lot better doing it, even if the teenage kids didn't "look" like they deserved it. It was hot and everybody wanted to buy their stuff and go! So I solved the problem. Or rather, God did. - Chuck

Just wanted to let you know that I did the Drive Thru Difference today when I went through Sonic during Happy Hour today! It was great feeling and even though I need no reason to hang around to see how the person reacted to it, just the feeling and high I got from doing it made it all worth it to me! Thanks for turning us on to this incredible gesture of kindness! - Wayne and Mandie

I had to email you. I was having a bad day. I decided to flip through the Christian radio stations to make myself feel better and I came across yours. I had never listened before and I really enjoyed it. I only heard the blurp about the people who paid for the car behind them and could see the smiles and the giggles afterward. I did not know yet about your website and that I could print off a drive-thru difference note but I was inspired to make somebody's day better than my own. Afterall, I like many other people was stressing about money that day. I pulled into a fast food joint and I asked the guy at the window to charge me for the guy's food behind me. The funniest part was I think they all thought I was hitting on this gentlemen. I got a good laugh over that. I also asked them to give him a note that went somthing like this:

God smiles on you when you least expect it. Enjoy lunch on me. Have a blessed day!
With Love,
A perfect stranger

This simple act of giving made my day. I never got to see his face. I don't know if it touched his heart but boy it touched mine. Thank you. God bless you for what you are doing to share Gods love. - T

I haven't had the opportunity to take the Drive Thru challenge yet, but I wanted to tell you about what we used to do when we lived in the Bay Area 15 years ago. In the Bay Area are several toll bridges, and we loved to pay the toll for the car behind us. It was fun watching the driver try to catch up with us to see who these strange people were! Keep up the good work, and I'll try to go through the drive thru window soon, and I've already printed out my flyer. - Nancy
